Wildfire context for Williston Lake
Williston Lake is an enormous reservoir extending through boreal and mountain terrain with hydroelectric infrastructure, resource and forestry roads, Indigenous territories, remote recreation, work sites, and very sparse settlement. Fires can affect access, industrial operations, camps, utilities, and smoke hundreds of kilometres from the lake's central point.
Why this place-level view is useful
A reservoir of this scale is its own operational geography and cannot be represented by Mackenzie or Hudson's Hope alone. FireRadar provides official wildfire context while road, utility, Indigenous, and emergency authorities remain responsible for access and operational decisions.
