FireRadar Canadian Wildfire Dataset
Download current wildfire records from participating provincial and territorial sources. CWFIS national records and NASA satellite hotspots are kept separate. When a source is unavailable, it is omitted rather than reported as zero.
Each download identifies source availability. Delayed records are labelled, and unavailable or unconfirmed sources are omitted until their counts can be confirmed.

Keep coverage details with downloaded records
JSON and GeoJSON include the schema, dataset identity and source coverage. CSV is a flat table; its response headers identify the schema and archive date and link to a machine-readable metadata document. Keep that document with the CSV so an omitted source is not mistaken for a jurisdiction with zero fires.
What the main fields mean
incidentIdStable official incident identifier when the source provides one.
status / sourceStatusNormalized display status and the source wording where available. FireRadar does not fabricate missing source states.
sourceState / sourceFreshnessWhether the official source is current or delayed for an included record. Unavailable or unconfirmed sources are excluded rather than treated as zero.
reportedSizeHaCurrent source-reported incident size when available. It is not national cumulative annual area burned.
firstReportedAtSource-supplied incident report, discovery or creation time when explicitly available. Missing remains null, and the value is not ignition time.
detectedAtFireRadar's detection or first-observation timestamp when available. It is kept separate from source first-reported time and is not ignition time.
lastUpdatedAtIncident update time only when supplied by the relevant official record. FireRadar does not fill it from a detection or first-reported timestamp.
longitude / latitudeIncident reference point. It is not a perimeter and should not be treated as the nearest fire edge.
sourceThe provincial or territorial source that supplied the record.
Coverage and provenance
FireRadar uses official incident records that are current or clearly labelled as delayed. National CWFIS records and satellite detections remain separate. Coverage differs because Canadian agencies publish different fields and update on different schedules.

Agency data remains subject to the originating source's terms and authority. FireRadar does not claim ownership over government wildfire facts. When republishing FireRadar's standardized records or summaries, identify FireRadar.ca as the aggregator and retain the official source information.
