Wildfire context for BC Highway 6
Highway 6 crosses forested Kootenay and Monashee terrain between the U.S. border, Nelson, the Slocan Valley and the North Okanagan. Wildfires can affect visibility, access, services and travel well beyond the closest incident marker, while conditions may differ substantially from one section of the route to another.
