Wildfire context for Ontario Highway 101 – Northern Ontario
Highway 101 crosses large areas of boreal and mixed forest, mining and forestry country, lakes, rail connections, remote roads, and widely separated communities. Fires can affect industrial traffic, regional travel, outdoor recreation, and smoke along long stretches where conditions may differ substantially from either endpoint.
