The Fraser Valley Regional District includes dense valley communities, agricultural land, forested mountains, river corridors, remote recreation, Indigenous communities, rural electoral areas, and critical Highway 1, 3, 5, and 7 connections. Mountain fires can affect rural access and smoke while the urban valley remains some distance from the incident.
