Track the current direct-official wildfire picture by province and territory and follow FireRadar’s own daily activity series as it grows. The archive starts when FireRadar records a snapshot; earlier days are never backfilled as if FireRadar observed them.

FireRadar wildfire activity over time
Each point is a FireRadar daily snapshot of direct-official wildfire records. Current-day data is included immediately; the historical line grows as daily snapshots accumulate.

A data moat that compounds over time
- Number of fires by province: available now from the current direct-official snapshot.
- Most active regions: available now and ranked from the same snapshot.
- Interactive timelines: available now and become richer with each daily stored snapshot.
- Season comparisons: published only when FireRadar has equivalent observation windows that support a fair comparison.
Why this does not say “area burned”
FireRadar currently snapshots the reported sizes of fires that are active at that moment. That can rise or fall as incidents grow, close, or change reporting. It is useful original activity data, but it is not the same metric as cumulative annual area burned.
What the FireRadar series includes
The series uses FireRadar’s deduplicated direct provincial and territorial official incident view. CWFIS national records and NASA FIRMS satellite hotspots are excluded so they are not added to direct-official totals. Missing reported sizes remain missing, and jurisdictions without a confirmed direct source are not treated as zero.
