Lesser Slave Lake smoke forecast
Use FireRadar's ECCC FireWork smoke forecast to see modelled smoke movement across and beyond Lesser Slave Lake. Forecast smoke is not proof that a nearby wildfire is the source of local smoke.
Track official wildfires and smoke across the Lesser Slave Lake region, including Slave Lake, High Prairie, nearby Indigenous communities, boreal forest, and major highway approaches.
Use the regional view to understand official incident geography across multiple communities, then compare forecast smoke and measured AQHI before drawing conclusions about local air quality.
This region uses an approximate FireRadar boundary and wildfire locations published by the source. It is not an emergency boundary, predicted spread area or municipal boundary.

Checking the latest official ECCC FireWork forecast status. Model issuance, forecast coverage and source status will appear when confirmed. Missing forecast data does not mean the air is clear.

Checking the latest official ECCC AQHI observation. The value, reporting location and observation time will appear when confirmed. Missing data does not mean the air is clean or the health risk is low.
Open the AQHI observation map →The dashed outline is FireRadar's curated regional counting extent. Incident points, smoke forecasts, and AQHI observations are separate datasets and should not be interpreted as evacuation boundaries or fire-spread predictions. FireRadar regional extents may overlap near transition areas. Regional totals are useful local summaries and must not be added together to produce a province total.
The Lesser Slave Lake region is a broad transition between agricultural land and extensive boreal forest, with lakeside communities, Indigenous lands, forestry and energy activity, recreation areas, and long road corridors. Wildfires can affect community access, industrial operations, farms, utilities, tourism, and smoke across both sides of the lake and far beyond municipal boundaries.
No active wildfires are currently shown in this region. This does not guarantee local safety or replace official emergency information.
