Wildfire context across Far North Ontario
Far North Ontario covers an immense boreal and wetland landscape with many Indigenous communities, fly-in settlements, seasonal roads, mining and exploration activity, waterways, and very limited permanent highway access. Wildfires can affect aviation, community supply routes, traditional land use, emergency logistics, remote work sites, and smoke over hundreds of kilometres, making broad regional context especially important.
