Elephant Hill Wildfire (2017)
BC Wildfire Service reports the Elephant Hill wildfire at 191,865 hectares, extending from near Ashcroft toward the Highway 24 area after being discovered July 6, 2017.
Historical significance
The Province records evacuation orders and alerts associated with Elephant Hill and describes rapid growth during its first day. It remains one of the most consequential named fires from the 2017 season.
