Prince Edward Island Wildfire Map

Prince Edward Island does not currently have a confirmed direct official active-fire feed wired into FireRadar. The page still provides national fallback and satellite context, but those layers must not be mistaken for a direct PEI incident feed.

Current official Prince Edward Island snapshot

FireRadar does not currently have a confirmed direct official Prince Edward Island active-fire feed. Official totals remain unavailable rather than being shown as zero.

What this map shows

  • Active official fires: direct Prince Edward Island incident records where the source supplies them.
  • Recent out or extinguished fires: records retained within FireRadar's current out-fire display window.
  • Reported hectares: summed only for active official records that contain a usable fire size.
  • Satellite hotspots: optional NASA FIRMS thermal detections, kept separate from official incidents.

Official source coverage

No confirmed direct feed

Direct official PEI incident totals are shown as unavailable rather than zero. Optional CWFIS and NASA FIRMS layers provide broader context with their own limitations.

How to use the Prince Edward Island wildfire map

1. Check the official layer

Start with direct official active-fire markers. Select a marker to inspect its status, reported size, source dates, and cause when those fields are available.

2. Add context deliberately

Enable recent out fires, satellite hotspots, or the CWFIS national view separately. These layers have different meanings and should not be added together as one incident total.

3. Search a local place

Search a community or address to open a nearby-activity preview with approximate straight-line distances to official fires and satellite detections.

Important safety note

FireRadar is an informational map, not an emergency notification or evacuation service. Data can be delayed, incomplete, or revised by the source. Follow Prince Edward Island government, local emergency services, and official evacuation instructions for decisions affecting life or property.
